Share and Sell Store Links

As a shop owner, you can direct traffic to your store from your website or social media using a subdomain that Etsy makes for you and provides as your personalized, unique link. For instance, my store’s subdomain is artsandbricks.etsy.com. When customers use your personalized link to shop, Etsy takes 4% of the order total off your Etsy bill.

Marketing share links from Etsy use a subdomain to create unique links for tracking sales. Purchase using your unique link save you 4% of the sales total on your Etsy bill.

Automated “Urgency Notes” on storefronts

Etsy helps customers who may be on the fence about a project by adding red textual comments on your storefront for limited inventory and if the product is in someone’s cart.

Automated Abandoned Cart offers

Etsy has some programmatic features that help shoppers convert. For instance, Etsy provides shoppers with one-click automated abandoned cart offers. As a shop owner, you can turn on Etsy Abandoned Cart offers.

Gift Teasers

Etsy has recently rolled out “Gift Teasers,” emails sent to gift receivers to help build excitement about the gift that was purchased for them. It’s free and optional and a lovely way to set the stage for a happy end customer.

Helpful Tips from Etsy

Etsy does a good job of providing tips to shop owners, especially prompting store owners to set up store features that encourage increased sales.

Video gets twice as many orders

For instance, Etsy provided me a note based on their data: “We found that listings with video get twice as many orders as listings with just photos. Less than 28% of sellers have listings with video — it may help you stand out.”


In 2024, Etsy share's its finding that listings with video get 2x as many orders as listings with just photos and YET less than 28% of sellers have listings with video.

Thank You Offers

Based on Etsy’s tracked data from April and May 2021, they found that on average, sellers who send thank you offers on Etsy get more orders and more repeat buyers than sellers who don’t send thank you offers.

Send a thank you offer to bring back recent and future buyers
